What happen to the casinos.lottery money. It goes to the schools. Is someone is pocketing the money?
—Guest Hettie

Enough!

As previously stated, the money is there for education. We need to insure the funds are used properly. If we use the money as a small business would, the jobs would be safe and necessary items would be in the classroom. Additionally, I don't specifically blame the educational system but the parents and children for not making sure the children learn what they should.

My husband already has furlow days because the State cannot give DOC the appropriation it needs. If this question should pass it will make a huge difference for our family. It will be like a $500 - $600 difference on his monthly paycheck. I am for education, but where has the money gone that we have appropriated for education? On a different note I feel that a lot of the state questions only promote hate and of course only Christianity, why can't we all co-exist? Is that really an impossible thing to do?

We are all so concerned about our children and well we should be.However,we should hold our congress just accountable,or get rid of them.

Hey Marie

75% of funds for the capitol Dome was from private sources.sad to see your education was wasted. The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Throwing more and more money at a failed flawed system and expecting a different result meets that criteria. SQ744 mandating that we spend the same amount per child as surrounding States? Oklahoma has around 3,000,000.00 people, Dallas / Fort Worth has a larger population and you want / feel Oklahoma should compete with Texas and spend the same amount per child and this will make them smarter? Refer to Definition of crazy! Not today Comrade, get the Federal Government out of our schools put the State back in charge and dismantle the Teachers Union and we’ll have a better education for our ( chill-ren. ) Our College Graduates now get to use their fantastic education now in their carriers when they utter the words, “Would you like fries with that cheese-burger? How’s that change working out now?

We HAVE to have a balanced budget--having a law that could potentially skew the budget so that some or all of the other state services are jeopardized doesn't make economics sense. Whoever got this bill on the ballot must be trying to make a point instead of actually wanting to fund education to match the local region at the expense of prisons, roads (of which we already suffering with as we ALL know), health dept, police & fire depts, State Court system, etc. NONE of these can stand to have budget cuts. Please vote no and support the governor and all other thinking Oklahomans.

Education is the missing link.

If we educate our young people, we won't need to build more prisons and enlarge the DHS welfare system. Education is what we need in this state for it to prosper and not be 49th in every category. Our legislators are mostly well educated, but you would never know it!!!

Educate yourself on the facts!!

What people need to understand is 25% of state employees will lose their job. It's not parks and domes that loss this funding it's the people of OK. And what good is throwing more money at education going to do if we have no checks and balances in our education system as it is. 65% of property tax goes to education, 20% of casino revenue, 85% of lottery. Wasn't all that suppose to fix our education system in the past? And just so you know the state employees are already making so little that state services are providing for their families. the money is there for education it is not appropriated correctly, it stays in administration and never makes it to the class room. Educate yourself on the facts. People that vote for this bill should have no say when sex offenders and murders walk the streets. DOC is already operating on 65% staff due to budget cuts that is why DA's have to make deals with criminals and they can't go to jail. Everything will be effected if this passes.

The fact that all the smart people are against this should tell you something.

i’m a big proponent of additional funding for education but this thing is a disaster. very glad to hear henry is against it and i hope voters read about this before voting on what might initially sound like a good idea

Oh noes! Heaven forbid children at public schools receive the same quality education as neighboring states! Aaah! But, but… we NEED that new park downtown, new buses, and a stupid looking dome on top of the capitol! Screw the children, we needz us some materialistic stuff!
