Roster and Player Profiles
Continued from Page 1.
- Name: Reggie Jackson
Position: G
Jersey Number: 15
Height/Weight: 6-3 / 208
Acquired: 2011 Draft (24th Overall)
Of Note: A standout for the Boston College Eagles, Jackson averaged 18.2 points per game during his junior season and was selected All-ACC First team before leaving early to enter the draft. He will play his rookie season for the Thunder in 2011-2012.
- Name: Eric Maynor
Position: G
Jersey Number: 6
Height/Weight: 6-3 / 175
Acquired: Trade from Utah - December 2009
Of Note: The acquisition of Maynor from the Utah Jazz is considered to be one of GM Sam Presti's savvier moves. Oklahoma City brought in the rookie point guard, drafted 20th overall, in a Utah salary dump, and Maynor quickly became the primary back-up to Westbrook, averaging over 3 assists per game in his time with OKC.
- Name: Nazr Mohammed
Position: C
Jersey Number: 8
Height/Weight: 6-10 / 250
Acquired: Trade from Charlotte - February 2011
Of Note: Acquired at the 2011 trade deadline from the Charlotte Bobcats, Nazr Mohammed brings veteran leadership of 12 years, including postseason trips in that time. In 771 career regular season games, the Thunder big man owns career averages of 6.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 17.9 minutes per game.
- Name: Kendrick Perkins
Position: C
Jersey Number: 5
Height/Weight: 6-10 / 280
Acquired: Trade from Boston - February 2011
Of Note: Noted as one of the more powerful inside defenders in the game, Kendrick Perkins helped the Boston Celtics win an NBA Championship. The 8th year center came to Oklahoma City in a trade deadline deal that sent fan favorites Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic to Boston. But despite the loss of two excellent players, excitement reigned supreme as Perkins quickly agreed to a contract extension with the Thunder.
- Name: Nate Robinson
Position: G
Jersey Number: 3
Height/Weight: 5-9 / 180
Acquired: Trade from Boston - February 2011
Of Note: Also acquired in the deadline trade that brought center Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City, Nate Robinson joins a deep bench at the guard position. Despite his size, Robinson brings a unique set of skills. Not only is he a fine shooter, but the 6th year pro is also the only three-time Slam Dunk winner in NBA history. It appears unlikely he'll be with the Thunder long, however.
- Name: Thabo Sefolosha
Position: G
Jersey Number: 2
Height/Weight: 6-7 / 215
Acquired: Trade from Chicago Bulls - February 2009
Of Note: A former professional Swiss player, Thabo Sefolosha was drafted 16th overall in 2006 by the 76ers, then promptly traded to the Bulls where he appeared in 71 games his rookie year. In 2007-2008, the guard/forward averaged over 20 minutes a game for the Bulls with just under 2 assists per contest. He was a nice addition to the 2008-2009 Thunder squad, averaging 31.1 minutes and 8.5 points a game. Sefolosha has developed into one of the league's better defensive stoppers and signed a 4-year extension with the Thunder early in the 2009-2010 season.
- Name: Russell Westbrook
Position: G
Jersey Number: 0
Height/Weight: 6-3 / 187
Acquired: 2008 Draft (4th Overall)
Of Note: Westbrook was the team's top overall pick in the 2008 draft. Known as an athletic player and stout defender, Westbrook played college at UCLA where he averaged 12.7 points per game in his final season. He was a breakout star for Oklahoma City in his rookie season, earning two Rookie of the Month awards and finishing 4th in Rookie of the Year voting after averaging over 15 points and 5.3 assists per game. In his sophomore season, he showed signs of potential greatness, scoring 20.5 points per game and averaging 8 assists per game. Now, he has grown into one of the game's top young point guards.
