The Show:

This musical-comedy extravaganza debuted to critical raves on Broadway in 2002 and later took home 8 Tony Awards in 2003 including the Best Musical of the year. Now it's coming to Oklahoma City from March 28th through April 2nd at the Civic Center Music Hall downtown.

The Story:

It's 1962 Baltimore, and plus-sized 16-year-old, Tracy Turnblad, wants to capture the hearts of the world by dancing on TV's most popular program. Along with her efforts to be television's new dance princess, Tracy wants to win the love of heartthrob Link Larkin as well as integrate the TV show in the process.
Based on the film written and directed by John Waters, the musical features an original score by Academy Award-nominated Marc Shaiman and is directed by Jack O’Brien.

The Tickets:

Tickets are available by calling the Celebrity Attractions Ticket Office at (800) 869-1451, at select Homeland stores, in person at the Civic Center Music Hall box office and online at Tickets.com.

The Times:

Hairspray runs in OKC from March 28 - April 2. The Tuesday-Thursday shows begin at 7:30pm while the Friday and Saturday evening shows start at 8pm. There are matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm and a Sunday evening show at 7pm.

The Cost:

Tickets range from $16 to $66, depending on night and location. Orchestra and Grand Tier seating from Thursday evening to Sunday afteroon are the most expensive while upper balcony seats for the Tuesday and Wednesday shows are the least. Check here for more information on pricing and seating.

The FAQ:

The show is recommended for children 10 and up. As for dress, all types of clothing are represented with business casual to semi-formal being the most common.
