Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz

By , About.com Guide

Background:

A member of the Arena Football League's minor league af2, short for Arena Football 2, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz began as an expansion team in 2004. The team, founded by Jeff Lund, Horn Chen and former University of Oklahoma football coach Barry Switzer, is owned by Phil Miller, an OKC businessman who also owns Long Wave, a defense and government contracting company.

The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz have a reputation of success, putting together winning seasons in 3 of their first 4 years. As of 2009, though, they have never advanced beyond the first week of the playoffs.

Location:

The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz play at the Ford Center in downtown Oklahoma City. Built in 2002, the Ford Center is state of the art and hosts a number of amateur sports franchises. The 586,000 square foot arena seats nearly 20,000 and features over 3000 club seats, 7 party suites and 48 private suites.

* Due to Ford Center renovations, the Yard Dawgz will play the 2009 season at the Cox Convention Center.

Tickets:

Single game tickets for the Yard Dawgz are priced between $10 and $65, depending on seating, and can be purchased at the Ford Center box office, online or by calling (800) 745-3000.

Season tickets start at just $56. Get season ticket information online.

Special pricing and incentives are also available for groups. See the official site for details.
