Oklahoma City Roller Derby

Oklahoma City Roller Derby grew out of the efforts of eight Oklahoma City women (Reagan Kloiber, Amanda Lipscomb, Charla Lucero, Carmen Bryan, Natascha Marley, Robyn Webb, Candise Chastka, Catherine Leu) who formed the Tornado Alley Rollergirls in the spring of 2006. New recruits joined, and the name Oklahoma City Roller Derby was adopted two years later, the group pledging as part of its mission to promote "health, well being, and independence of women through our continued efforts to positively impact our community."

Today, Oklahoma City Roller Derby includes the Tornado Alley Rollergirls and a B-team, the Lightning Broads. Home bouts are held monthly, and every home bout benefits a local charity such as the American Red Cross, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Heartline, MS Society, Central OK Humane Society, AIDS Walk OKC and the Children's Miracle Network. In addition, each year the groups holds a "Bout Against Breast Cancer" for SHOUT, an organization supporting young women cancer survivors.

Oklahoma City Roller Derby home bouts are held at the historic Farmers Public Market at 311 South Klein downtown. It is located just south of Reno between Walker and Penn.

Tickets for Oklahoma City Roller Derby bouts are $12 if purchased in advance online or $15 if purchased at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult admission.

For all home bouts, Rollergating begins at 4 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the action begins about an hour later.
