Top 10 Seafood Restaurants in the Oklahoma City Metro

By Adam Knapp, About.com

Oklahoma City is known more for steaks and barbecue, but you will find a few great seafood restaurants in OKC. Here's a breakdown of the best with features and contact information for each.

1. Pearl's Oyster Bar

Growing up, I was never a big seafood fan, but I credit Pearl's with converting me. The original location near NW 63rd quickly became one of my favorites. The seafood selection is nearly limitless here, suited to any taste. I suggest the Asian Mahi Mahi or the bacon-wrapped fried shrimp with black cherry mustard sauce. Pearl's Oyster Bar has two locations, one on SW 74th in addition to that noted below. Also, check out Pearl's Lakeside on Lake Hefner.
Features:
- Private party, catering and banquet facilities
- Rooftop patio dining
Information:
- Address: 5641 N. Classen Blvd.
- Phone: (405) 842-2102

2. The Deep Fork Grill

The Deep Fork Grill, one of my favorite restaurants in OKC, has some great steak and poultry dishes but also ranks as a top spot for seafood. It's an upscale restaurant with unique, quality seafood dishes such as Grilled Chilean Sea Bass and Coriander Crusted Ahi with sauteed shiitake mushrooms.
Features:
- Exclusive custom catering
- Private dining
Information:
- Address: 5418 N. Western Ave.
- Phone: (405) 848-7678

3. Pearl's Crabtown

Yes, it's the same company behind another on my list, but Pearl's Crabtown is a different experience entirely. Located in a renovated warehouse in Bricktown, the restaurant is a casual Cajun eatery in which piles of broiled seafood are placed on paper right on your table. Jazz and blues music play as you dine on such specialties as Jambalaya, Shrimp Creole or Louisiana Crab Cakes with tangy remoulade sauce.
Features:
- Three banquet facilities for any occasion
- Smoker-friendly dining in Little Havana room
Information:
- Address: 303 E. Sheridan
- Phone: (405) 232-7227

4. The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro

The Metro is not exclusively seafood, of course. In fact, it's considered French cuisine, but you'll find what their website calls "tastes from around the world." You'll also find some top-notch seafood. When I go to the Metro, I almost always order a seafood appetizer such as the smoked salmon or crab cakes. But at this fine dining establishment, there are some fantastic seafood entrees as well. The Butter Poached Lobster is quite expensive, but you won't complain when you try it.
Features:
- Extensive wine list
- Private dining available
Information:
- Address: 6418 North Western
- Phone: 840-9463

5. Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse

Another crossover from my top unique OKC restaurants list, Mickey Mantle's is named as a steakhouse. And the steak is delicious. But so are the numerous seafood options such as Alaskan King Crab Legs, Lobster and a Salmon with lemon butter sauce.
Features:
- Lounge with live entertainment
- Banquet booking available
Information:
- Address: #7 Mickey Mantle Drive
- Phone: (405) 272-0777

6. Galileo Bar and Grill

Head down to the historic Paseo district for a unique and entertaining seafood option. Listen to the live music or poetry as you try one of the signature menu dishes. There are chicken and Italian dishes, but if you're looking for seafood, there aren't many choices. They're quality ones, though. Try the baked sea bass with cinnamon or the salmon with a maple glaze.
Features:
- Live music and poetry readings
- Patio dining
Information:
- Address: 3009 Paseo
- Phone: (405) 415-7827

7. The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro

The Mantel made the list of my top recommendations for a romantic night out, and it makes an appearance here as well. I love the Crab Cake Sandwich on a kaiser roll for a lunch in Bricktown, and for dinner I recommend Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna in an apricot brandy sauce. There are also some great jumbo scallops and a honey-glazed salmon.
Features:
- Catering and Private Rooms Available
- Outdoor Dining
Information:
- Address: 201 E. Sheridan
- Phone: (405) 236-8040

8. Tom & Jerry's Steak & Fish Grille

One of the more recent additions to the OKC seafood universe, Tom & Jerry's Steak & Fish Grille is a very nice fine dining experience. I've only been able to go once so far but was impressed enough to make mention of it here and will definitely try it again. There's nice live music, an extensive wine list and menu items such as Chipotle Crusted Mahi Mahi and, what I thoroughly enjoyed on my visit, the Salmon en Papillote with potatoes and shallots.
Features:
- Extensive catering options available
- Patio dining
Information:
- Official Site
- Address: 1501 NW 23rd St.
- Phone: 524-9100

9. Joe's Crab Shack

A regional chain seafood restaurant, you'll find Joe's Crab Shacks all over, including a couple in the metro. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the chains, but Joe's is casual-as-can-be, a nice, fun family destination with pretty good seafood. The coconut shrimp are tasty as is the grilled Maui Mahi, but make sure you try the crab. I like the garlic herb, and there's a crab cake sandwich big enough to fill you up.
Features:
- Kid and family friendly
- Fun, casual atmosphere
Information:
- Address: 5940 NW Expressway
- Phone: 232-1010

10. Jazmo'z Bourbon Street Cafe

Down on the Bricktown Canal is a New Orleans-style seafood restaurant with live music and an entertaining Mardi Gras atmosphere. But whether or not you're in the mood for the fun around you, you'll enjoy the many good seafood dishes, cajun and otherwise. Have some crab dip as an appetizer, a bowl of shrimp gumbo and a tasty entree like blackened tilapia or the chef's famous recipe crawfish. I don't think there's a seafood desert, but you can enjoy it in every other part of your meal.
Features:
- Live music
- Extensive bar selection with imported beers
Information:
- Address: 100 E. California
- Phone: (405) 232-6666
