The Bottom Line
Located on Western just south of NW 63rd in Oklahoma City's NW area, Flip's Wine Bar & Trattoria is a very good choice for quality Italian food in the metro area. The restaurant can get pretty busy and loud at times, but you'll find efficient service, a small but comfortable bar area and a number of very tasty Italian dishes in a causal atmosphere.

Guide Review - Flip's Wine Bar & Trattoria
Flip's Wine Bar & Trattoria is a popular spot for those working in Northwest OKC. By about 6pm, the small bar area on the south side of the restaurant is typically full as the business casual crowd occupies the unique, glass display case-like tables. It's well-liked because it's a quite comfortable place to relax with a glass of wine and a quality Italian dish.
If the bar area is bustling, take your spot among the red-checkered table cloths and mix and match chairs in the main dining area. Or, even better, sit on the well-landscaped patio along Western Avenue. Either way, you'll enjoy efficient, though not overly friendly, service for the most part and a multi-course European country-style dinner.
Each meal begins with a salad, then the soup of the day. Consider getting the unique pasta chips as an appetizer. Sprinkled in parmesan cheese, the pasta squares are cooked golden brown and served with marinara, the clever Italian version of chips and salsa. Main entree dishes include all kinds of pasta, healthy meals such as seafood or chicken, Italian favorites such as tortellini with artichoke hearts, tasty pizzas on whole wheat crust and much more.
Prices are quite reasonable and well-suited to the casual, charming atmosphere. Full entrees with salad, soup and bread are in the $14-20 range, and Flip's also works well for lunch, with sandwiches and salads under $10.
