Guide Review - The Coach House
The fairly small dining area won't bother the claustrophobics thanks to the high-arcing, wood-raftered ceiling and intimate feel to the tables donned in white cloth. The atmosphere is quiet and personal (cell phones are restricted to lobby use only), and you sit comfortably in a soft, high-backed chair.
The menu at the Coach House is seasonal, so it changes on a regular basis. Nevertheless, you can essentially be guaranteed to find something you'll love because the food is fantastic. There's usually a wonderfully grilled filet or a roasted rack of lamb. I had the latter recently with a cherry sauce that I recommend to everyone that will listen.
And if I haven't praised enough, please permit me to do a bit more. The service is impeccable as well. Each server I've had at the Coach House was not only pleasant but incredibly knowledgeable. If you're like me, you enjoy a glass of wine with an elegant dinner, but you might not have much of a clue what to order. Well, just ask. You'll be paired with a selection from their award-winning wine list that compliments your chosen dish perfectly.
Prices are quite reasonable in the realm of fine dining with starters and salads priced in the $8-12 range and the average entrée costing around $30 or so. Be prepared to spend about $20 more than that if you want the rack of lamb, of course.
