The Bottom Line

One of Bricktown's top dining spots, the Melting Pot is part of a national chain of fondue restaurants but is still one of the metro's more unique options. An experience as much as it is a meal, the Melting Pot, though fairly expensive and time-consuming, is absolutely perfect for special occasions or a romantic evening.

Pros

  • Interesting and unique dining option that is perfect for dates or holidays
  • A large variety of choices for each meal course, something for everyone
  • Delicious, quality cuts of meat

Cons

  • Not an option for those in a time crunch
  • Look for weekly specials whenever possible because the experience can be expensive

Guide Review - The Melting Pot - Restaurant Review

Often, circumstances dictate our restaurant choices. Sometimes we want a quick, casual meal. Other times, we are looking to impress with upscale dining. With the Melting Pot, the fondue restaurant located in Bricktown, the goal is the experience, a longer and more intimate opportunity that is perfect for dates and special occasions.

This experience begins with a seat at one of the cherry wood-lined tables, nicely customizable with dividers depending on the size of the party. Electric burners sit in the middle with fondue pots on top. It's a dark and comfortable atmosphere with plenty of room for all the food that will soon be on the table.

Your choice of cheese fondue comes first, a tray of dippers to the side with bread, veggies and Granny Smith apples. After a salad, a new pot will arrive with vegetable broth, oil or another cooking style choice. Table members drop in choice cuts of chicken, marinated sirloin, filet, shrimp, pork loin, lobster or more, all depending on your dinner selection, and after only minutes the delicious pieces are ready to eat with the variety of flavorful sauces.

Don't let that be the end of the meal, though. A chocolate fondue awaits for dessert, many tempting options available, and the tray of dippers includes strawberries, cheesecake, brownies, bananas and more. It's the final course in a fantastic dining medley.

After all is said and done, a process that takes at least an hour and a half or so, you'll be more than satisfied. And that is reflected in the bill. With drinks, it wouldn't be surprising to go well beyond a hundred dollars for two people. For most of us, that means the Melting Pot won't enter our regular restaurant rotation. But with wonderful service and a comfortable atmosphere, it's a perfect option for those special holidays and romantic date nights.
