Oklahoma Sooners in the NFL


One of the premiere programs in college football, the University of Oklahoma has produced a number of NFL players. Here is a current list of the former Oklahoma Sooners now playing in the NFL.

Note: NFL rosters change frequently. The following list is accurate as of fall 2013.

Frank Alexander

Team: Carolina Panthers
Position: Defensive End
Number: 90
At Oklahoma: A two-year starter for OU, Alexander was picked in the 4th round of the 2012 draft by the Panthers.

Sam Bradford

Team: St. Louis Rams
Position: Quarterback
Number: 8
At Oklahoma: Bradford, an OKC native and product of Putnam City North won the 2008 Heisman Trophy as a sophomore for the Sooners. He was selected #1 overall in the 2010 NFL draft by the Rams.

Ryan Broyles

Team: Detroit Lions
Position: Wide Receiver
Number: 84
At Oklahoma: A Norman native, Ryan Broyles set the all-time NCAA record in career catches while with the Sooners. He was picked in the 2nd round of the 2012 draft.

Chris Chester

Team: Washington Redskins
Position: Offensive Guard
Number: 66
At Oklahoma: Always a versatile lineman for OU from 2001-2005, Chester was selected in the 2nd round, 56th overall, by the Ravens in 2006.

Jamell Fleming

Team: Arizona Cardinals
Position: Corner
Number: 29
At Oklahoma: Brown was a standout at OU from 2008-2011. He was selected in the 3rd round by the Cardinals in 2012.

Dominique Franks

Team: Atlanta Falcons
Position: Corner
Number: Not Yet Assigned
At Oklahoma: A Tulsa native and star corner with the Sooners, Franks was taken in the 5th round, 135th overall, by the Falcons in 2010.

Jermaine Gresham

Team: Cincinnati Bengals
Position: Tight End
Number: 84
At Oklahoma: From Ardmore, Jermaine Gresham made a huge impact as a pass-catching tight end with the Sooners from 2006-2008. After an injury cost him the 2009 season, he was selected 21st by the Bengals in the 2010 draft.

James Hanna

Team: Dallas Cowboys
Position: Tight End
Number: 84
At Oklahoma: A Sooner from 2008-2011, the Cowboys took Hanna in the 6th round of the 2012 draft to back up Jason Witten.

Garrett Hartley

Team: New Orleans Saints
Position: Kicker
Number: 5
At Oklahoma: The primary kicker for much of his time at OU, 2004-2007, Hartley was nominated for the Lou Groza Award in 2006. Undrafted, he originally signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos.

Tony Jefferson

Team: Arizona Cardinals
Position: Safety
Number: 36
At Oklahoma: A star for the Sooners from 2010-2012, Jefferson left early for the NFL and was surprisingly undrafted. He signed as a free agent with Arizona and made the team out of camp.
