Oklahoma City's Adventure District - Neighborhood Profile

Oklahoma City's Adventure District is so named because of all the great museums, parks and attractions. Although Bricktown has grown tremendously over the last several years, and the NW Expressway area is a big commercial region of the metro, the Adventure District has been one of OKC's biggest tourist areas for many years.

Think of one of the city's entertainment destinations that has been around for several years, and the odds are decent it's located in the Adventure District. From Remington Park and Tinseltown USA to the Zoo and Science Museum Oklahoma, it's one of the leading neighborhoods for metro attractions.

Oklahoma City's Adventure District includes the area from I-35 west almost to I-235, south to NE 50th and north to NE 63rd. Some would label it stretching as far north as Frontier City, but many of the attractions are on or very near Martin Luther King Blvd.

OKC's Adventure District has a population of approximately 13,000. Median household income in the area was only $22,141 in 1999. This amount nearly triples when you look at the area just north of Wilshire between I-235 and I-35.

There is a large range of home values just within this small area, anywhere from $10,000 all the way up to over a million dollars, depending on the specific neighborhood. The median tends to be in the $40-$60,000 range.
