About Warr Acres:
Established originally as a housing addition in northwest Oklahoma City by developer Clyde B. Warr in the late 1930's, Warr Acres became an incorporated town in February 1948 when residents of 11 housing additions came together. Nearby Bethany filed suit to prevent the incorporation, but the Oklahoma State Supreme Court upheld it, and the community of Warr Acres was born.
In the decades that followed, Warr Acres expanded considerably as a both a residential and commercial area of Oklahoma City. Soon, the town annexed nearby areas that were not in Oklahoma City nor Bethany, and Warr Acres grew to an area of just over 3 square miles.

Warr Acres is located on the west/northwest side of Oklahoma City, just north of Bethany but south of the Lake Hefner area. The town limits are bounded by Wilshire Boulevard on the north, Mueller Avenue on the west, NW 33rd on the south and Meridian Avenue on the east.

Warr Acres has a population of just under 10,000, according to the 2000 census, with a racial breakdown of over 81 percent white, nearly 8 percent African American and just slightly less Hispanic or Latino.
