What stores are in the Oklahoma City Outlet Mall?: In the summer of 2010, developers said 80 percent of the stores were already leased, and that figure quickly jumped up to 100. Among the retailers are Saks Avenue Off 5th, Nike, Brooks Brothers, Under Armour, Banana Republic, Gap, Guess, Chico's, Tommy Hilfiger, Disney Store, DKNY, Michael Kors, Jos. A. Bank, Polo Ralph Lauren, Soma, Yankee Candle and many more. See a full list.How do I get there?: As noted above, the mall is located on the northeast corner of I-40 and Council Road on the west side of Oklahoma City. Look for exits 142 and 143. From I-44, take I-40 west. From I-240, go west to I-44 eastbound; then take I-40 west. From I-35 or I-235, take I-40 west.
What does it look like?: The exterior design is quite colorful and unique. Described by a Horizon Group press release, the mall has "covered walkways to maximize comfort and convenience for patrons" and features "landscaped courtyards, a food court, children’s play area, and a center court stage with fountains." Not only will it bring approximately 700 construction jobs and 1,000 permanent jobs, experts predict the outlet mall will bring new shoppers to the metro area. Currently, the closest outlet mall to the metro is in Gainesville, Texas, 135 miles away. On Grand Opening weekend, mall officials announced that over 160,000 people visited.
