Norman's Jazz in June Concerts

A longtime annual favorite for the Oklahoma City metro area in late June, the Norman Jazz in June Concert event began in 1984 and drew about 300 people. After the Norman Arts and Humanities Council got involved, Jazz in June exploded, featuring crowds of over 50,000 enjoying the sweet sounds of jazz and blues music on multiple stages along with the fun festival atmosphere.

The 26th Annual Jazz in June event takes place in 2009, from Thursday, June 25th through Saturday the 27th. All concerts are free and begin around 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and noon on Saturday.

Thursday and Friday concerts take place at Brookhaven Village, NW 36th and Robinson, in Norman, south of Oklahoma City. From I-35, exit west on Robinson and follow to NW 36th. Brookhaven Village is on the southwest side.

Saturday concerts are held at Andrews Park on the corner of Webster and Daws. From I-35, exit east on Main and follow to Webster. Follow Webster to Andrews Park on the northeast corner at Daws.

In addition to the great live music and Saturday clinics for musicians, the Jazz in June event features food and drink vendors.

Be aware of the fact that no chairs are provided, so viewers should bring folding chairs or blankets.
