The downtown streets of Edmond, just north of OKC, provide some of the better outside festival events in the metro area. One of them is the Edmond Jazz and Blues Festival, held each year on Memorial Day weekend at Stephenson Park. With great music, food and arts and crafts, this event has been going strong for more than 15 years.

Admission to the festival is free to the public thanks to a large list of sponsors that includes Citizens Bank, Edmond Historical Society, Oklahoma Arts Council, Edmond Regional Medical Center, Parkway Cleaners, Parkway Men's Wear, Edmond Life & Leisure and many, many more.

Music

It all begins with the smooth sounds of Jazz and Blues music. In the past, the performers have been varied but always incredibly talented. Such names as Shortt Dogg, Pinkie and The Snake Shakers, Garrett "Big G" Jacobson and Cecil Gray & Red Dawn Blues Band have graced the stage in recent years.

Food

Bring your blankets and chairs to spread out and listen to the music at Stephenson Park on 5th and Boulevard. But don't worry about bringing food. There will plenty on hand for purchase including Hideaway Pizza, Sweet Reet's cinnamon rolls, and Two Moons' Indian tacos, funnel cakes and caramel apple chips. A number of beverages including frozen tropical fruit drinks, Coca-Cola and Budweiser products will also be available.

And More...

Festivals of recent years have included a growing number of arts and crafts booths. If you're interested in reserving a booth, call (405) 830-8902 for more information. Booth space is available for $75.
