Originally built in 1898, the old Round Barn in Arcadia, Oklahoma is a unique, historic landmark along Route 66. Many people are not aware that most barns are hexagonal or octagonal, but the Arcadia Round Barn is truly round, a design decision that was supposed to help it withstand Oklahoma tornadoes, according to the Arcadia Historical Society. At 45 feet and two stories tall, the Round Barn is well known for its architecture, notably the ceiling.
Today, you can reserve the Round Barn in Arcadia for special events. The upstairs loft is a unique location for parties, weddings and more, and there are tables, chairs and restrooms available. See the official site for reservation information.
