Grandparent's Day 2011 in Oklahoma City

By , About.com Guide

You focused all your attention in appreciation on both Mother's Day and Father's Day, but don't forget Grandparent's Day in Oklahoma City. Honor the often amazing contributions from Grandmothers and Grandfathers with some exciting events and activities around the metro for the Grandparent's Day holiday in OKC.

If you know of other OKC spots offering specials and/or activities in celebration of Grandparent's Day, let me know.
  • Orr Family Farm

In previous years' celebration of Grandparent's Day, Orr Family Farm offered free "Olde Tyme" photographs for the grandparents with their grandkids. Stay tuned on whether they'll offer a similar promotion in 2011. This OKC attraction also has plenty of great fun for the holiday including fishing, mining for gemstones, a carousel, pony rides and the Jupiter train.

  • Oklahoma City Zoo

Grandparent's 55 and over accompanied by a child 3-11 will get free admission to the Oklahoma City Zoo on Sunday, September 11th. It's another perfect family attraction in the metro to celebrate the holiday. See the new elephant habitat and all the other great exhibits.

  • Other Metro Events of Interest

The September Event Calendar has plenty of interesting events around the Grandparent's Day holiday that would be perfect to celebrate together. Check there to get details on Septemberfest at the Governor's Mansion and much more.
