Gifts are great, but I suspect if you asked most moms, they'd much rather spend time with their kids than get a gift for Mother's Day. So why not take your mom out to eat in Oklahoma City. Dinner is always a good choice, of course, and any OKC favorite could work. Mom might even find a more intimate dining experience in the metro perfect for catching up with her children in a nice, quiet atmosphere.

Explore Oklahoma City with Mom

After brunch, continue spending time with Mom by taking her out to explore the Oklahoma City metro. She'll undoubtedly love a water taxi ride on the Bricktown canal or a trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Taking Mom to see the Dale Chihuly glass at he Oklahoma City Museum of Art would be a wonderful experience or revisiting the educational fun at Science Museum Oklahoma could bring back great memories for the moms.

• The Downtown Edmond Arts Festival is typically held the first weekend of May.
• The Oklahoma City Philharmonic often concludes their season in mid-May.
• The Edmond Jazz & Blues Festival is typically held toward the end of the month.
• The Civic Center Music Hall may have a Broadway show from Celebrity Attractions.
• Or catch a Redhawks game at the beautiful Bricktown Ballpark.
