Date and Times:
The Bricktown fireworks display begins at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Many years, the show follows an Oklahoma City RedHawks game, but in 2012, the RedHawks will unfortunately be on the road for Independence Day.Location:
Oklahoma City's Bricktown is located on the eastern side of downtown OKC between E.K. Gaylord Avenue on the west and Stiles Avenue on the East. Reno Avenue is a major Bricktown street on the south side, and Main Street is considered the north border. The fireworks are set off from the Bricktown Ballpark, and there are numerous excellent viewing areas all around Bricktown, Deep Deuce and other surrounding areas downtown.
Viewing:
Feel free to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets to set up on sidewalks around the area. Free parking is available beginning at 7 p.m. in the lot east of the ballpark, and you can often find parking spots along the areas streets. Get information on downtown parking areas. Many of the lots are in and around Bricktown.Bricktown is also one of the city's top locations for restaurants, bars and clubs, many of which have patio or rooftop seating excellent for viewing the July 4th fireworks. It would be a good idea to call in advance and inquire about reservations. The top locations will be taken very early in the day.
