Overview:
A private, 4-year institution, Southern Nazarene University is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene. The Bethany campus dates to 1909 when the Oklahoma Holiness College, which grew out of founder Mattie Mallory's work with the Oklahoma Orphanage downtown, became affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene and known as the Beulah Heights Academy and Bible School before relocating to its current location.
Through a number of mergers, the school operated under many names including Oklahoma Nazarene College, Bethany-Peniel College and Bethany Nazarene College. In 1986, the name was changed to Southern Nazarene University.
Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1956, Southern Nazarene University boasts of over 25,000 alumni working and serving throughout the United States and the world.
Location:
The Southern Nazarene University campus is located on 40 acres just west of Oklahoma City in Bethany. It is just north of NW 39th Expressway between Rockwell and MacArthur.
Academics:
Southern Nazarene University offers undergraduate degrees in 70 different fields as well as four graduate degrees in 7 areas of study and four associate degrees.
The school also has an accelerated "School of Professional Studies" for adult learners, offering degrees in areas such as business, criminal justice, nursing and more.

Current enrollment at Southern Nazarene University is just over 2,000. The student body is very evenly split between male and female, with just a slightly higher female enrollment.
