Overview:

Originally named Oklahoma State University Technical Institute when it first opened in 1961, Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City was renamed in 1990. It is a branch of the Oklahoma State University system, a public institution that specializes in general education. The school provides both traditional classroom studies as well as online courses and service learning.


The school also prides itself on its diverse offering of career-related programs and workforce development. Certifications are available in a number of fields focusing on training rather than general education, and many degrees at OSU-OKC are geared toward eventual transfer to a 4-year institution.

Location:

Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City is located on Portland Avenue in west of downtown Oklahoma City, easily accessible off I-44 south of NW 10th. The campus has multiple buildings to the north, a pond towards the middle and sporting areas on the south such as a tennis court, track, golf course and more.

Academics:

OSU-OKC currently offers over 40 degree programs and certificates. Primarily available are Associate of Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees, and programs include agricultural fields, arts and sciences, business, health, human services and engineering.

The school also have certificates available for Agriculture Technologies and Human Services. These include areas of study such as horticulture, retail floristry, early child care education and firefighting.

Students/Faculty:

Current enrollment at Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City is estimated at just under 6,000. There are approximately 64 full-time faculty members, and the school also uses a number of part-time or adjunct instructors.
