The finished gypsum cement casting was ready the next day. Although the standard base is painted to look like stone granite, I requested a black base. The bottom of the piece has the date of the casting, the number of the piece and was signed by Dave Freeman.

Dave Freeman will be at Penn Square Mall through Mother's Day, as well as the two weeks before Father's Day. The kiosk is located on the bottom level, next to Zales Jewelers.

The casting has a lifetime guarantee, if it breaks it will be repaired. Freeman showed me a piece dated 2001 that had three fingers broken off, a casting that he just repaired. I could not figure out what fingers had been fixed, the repairs were virtually invisible.

The price was quite reasonable at $35 for a casting with one hand and $25 for each additional hand, about the same price as sending flowers and but unlike flowers, a gift that will last forever.
