Oklahoma City Brewing Companies

Beer-lovers have plenty of options at bars and pubs across Oklahoma City, but why not support the local brewing companies. You're sure to find some beers you'll love. Here is a list of the Oklahoma City area brewing companies, with information on the types of ales offered and where to buy them.

Battered Boar Brewing Company

About: Started by Edmond's Mike Sandefur, the Battered Boar Brewing Company began pre-selling brews in early 2009 before debuting with three beers in July.
Beer Options: Battered Boar Brewing Company currently offers three beers: Briar Patch Amber, Heartbreak Hefeweizen and Company Man Pale Ale. A second batch of releases is expected to include a Coconut Cream Stout.
Where to Buy: A current list of locations is not available online, but Battered Boar products are available in a number of places, so check with your favorite liquor store, bar and restaurant.

About: In March of 2009, COOP Ale Works' beer debut came at the next-door 51st Street Speakeasy in Oklahoma City. Started by Mark Seibold, JD Merryweather, Daniel Mercer and Chase Healey, the company offers several beer options.
Beer Options: As of early 2010, COOP offerings include Horny Toad Cerveza, a Zeppelin German Wheat, Native Amber, Belgian-style DNR, a dark Gran-Sport Porter, Imperial Stout and a seasonal Oktoberfest beer.
Where to Buy: COOP products are available at a number of Oklahoma City-area restaurants including Old Chicago, Rococo, the Prohibition Room, Flips, Pearl's, Iron-Starr BBQ, McNellie's and many, many more. Check the location finder online.

About: Based in Mustang and debuting McNellie's in midtown in the summer of 2009, the Mustang Brewing Company's beers are actually brewed outside the state, but the company is currently going through the steps to getting licensed in Oklahoma.
Beer Options: As of early 2010, Mustang Brewing options include a Golden Ale and an Amber Lager. The company plans to introduce a new brew at the beginning of each year and a seasonal selection in the fall.
Where to Buy: Mustang beers are available at over 200 locations in Oklahoma, on tap at restaurants such as McNellie's, Bourbon Street and Old Chicago as well as in 6-packs at many area liquor stores. See a list of restaurants/bars online.

Redbud Brewing

About: Started in early 2011 by former COOP brewer Chase Healey, one-man operation Redbud began with a Pale Ale that quickly became popular in the metro.
Beer Options: In addition to the aforementioned Pale Ale, Redbud offers a Belgian Style Golden Ale called Cuvee.
