In Short:

The 586,000 square foot, multipurpose Ford Center arena was built as one of the primary MAPS initiatives passed by Oklahoma City voters in late 1993. Original construction began in 1999 and was completed in June of 2002 at a cost of $89 million. The architect for the project was the The Benham Companies, and the Ford Center is operated by Spectacor Management Group.
