In Short:
Hosted by the OKC Kennel Club and the Mid-Del-Tinker Kennel Club and sponsored by Purina, Clear Channel Communications and the OKC Convention and Visitor's Bureau, the OKC Summer Classic Dog Shows take place in late June/early July at the Cox Convention Center downtown.
With many breeds on hand for competition as well as vendors and behind-the-scenes tours, this event is a uniquely entertaining one for the entire family.

Date and Time:
The 2009 OKC Summer Classic Dog Shows will be held June 25th through the 28th, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day with final group competition beginning around 3 p.m.

The competition will take place at the Cox Convention Center in downtown OKC, located on Sheridan Ave. See full map and directions.
Tickets:
Tickets cost only $7.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12. They're available for purchase at the Cox Convention Center Box Office, in the northeast lobby near the entrance at Sheridan and E.K. Gaylord or near the south entrances at Reno. Box Office number is (405) 235-8288.
The Competition:
Thousands of dogs from all over the US and the world will be on hand to compete. The competition is expected to have over 145 breeds or varieties of dog and consists of varying classes, from novice to "utility" in which the dogs receive only hand signals.
There is a Rally Obedience in which handlers take the dogs through a series of instructions on a designated path as well.

Over 50 vendor booths will be on hand with dog-related merchandise including food, beds, leashes and even jewelry and antiques.
Visitors can take a behind-the-scenes tour of the dog show and meet owners and their dogs. In addition, Purina and the American Kennel Club will be hosting seminars.
