There have been a great number of famous entertainers from Oklahoma over the years, and most are quite familiar with the big names and/or those that get a lot of press. But what about that supporting player or emerging star? You might be surprised at which actors and actresses are from Oklahoma.

Here's a list of some Oklahoma actors and actresses that you may not know are from our state. Do you have another to add to the list? Let me know.

Gary Busey

Oklahoma Ties: Raised in Tulsa, Graduated from Nathan Hale High School, Attended Oklahoma State University
How You Know Him: The eccentric Gary Busey is a veteran of more than 60 films since entering the business in 1971. Among his more notable performances: "The Buddy Holly Story," "Lethal Weapon," "Point Break," "Under Siege," "The Firm" and "Rookie of the Year."

Kristin Chenoweth

Oklahoma Ties: Born and raised in Broken Arrow, Graduated from Oklahoma City University, 1st runner-up for Miss Oklahoma 1991
How You Know Her: Chenoweth made her name on Broadway in such hits as "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and "Wicked." She then made a successful transition to television on NBC's "The West Wing" and ABC's "Pushing Daisies."

Candy Clark

Oklahoma Ties: Born in Norman
How You Know Her: Candy Clark had a brief part in the 2009 Matt Damon film "The Informant," but most Oklahomans probably know her for her Academy Award-nominated performance in the 1973 film "American Graffiti."

Danny Cooksey

Oklahoma Ties: Born in Moore
How You Know Him: If you saw the 1992 blockbuster "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," you know Danny Cooksey as the red-haired friend of young Jon Connor, and in the 80's, he portrayed Sam McKinney on the show "Diff'rent Strokes." But you might be surprised at how often you've heard his voice as well. Cooksey has voiced a number of animated characters in such shows as "Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil," "Xiaolin Showdown" and the Disney Channel's "Dave the Barbarian."

Milena Govich

Oklahoma Ties: Born in Norman, Graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma
How You Know Her: Perhaps Govich's most visible role thus far was as Detective Nina Cassady on the long-running NBC series "Law & Order." She also appeared regularly in the Denis Leary drama "Rescue Me" on the FX network.

Bill Hader

Oklahoma Ties: Born and raised in Tulsa, Attended Cascia Hall Preparatory School
How You Know Him: Hader is best known as one of the stars of NBC's "Saturday Night Live." The Emmy Award-winning comedian is one of the show's feature players and does impressions of Al Pacino, Vincent Price and Dateline NBC's Keith Morrison. In addition, he has been seen in movies such as "Adventureland" and "Superbad."

Ed Harris

Oklahoma Ties: Attended the University of Oklahoma
How You Know Him: The Academy Award-winning actor Ed Harris only spent a brief time in Oklahoma, but we'll claim him nonetheless. You've undoubtedly seen Harris in hit movies such as "A Beautiful Mind," "The Truman Show," "The Rock" or "Apollo 13."

Rance Howard

How You Know Him: Everyone is familiar with actor turned Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard, but you may be surprised to realize that you've seen his dad in a lot of movies as well. Rance has appeared in over 100 films and often plays a priest or a reverend. You can see him in "Angels and Demons" as Cardinal Beck, as the preacher in "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" and as a chaplain in 1996's "Independence Day."

Rex Linn

Oklahoma Ties: Graduated from Oklahoma State University, Worked as a bank VP in Western Oklahoma
How You Know Him: Rex Linn is very familiar to fans of the hit CBS series "CSI: Miami" as Detective Frank Tripp. He has also had high-profile roles in a number of films such as "Cliffhanger" with Sylvester Stallone, "Tin Cup" with Kevin Costner and "Appaloosa" with Ed Harris.

James Marsden

How You Know Him: Marsden is best known for his role as Cyclops in the hit movie "X-Men," but since, he has appeared in other high profile parts such as Prince Edward in "Enchanted" and Oscar in "Death at a Funeral."
