Review: Lived in Texas most of my life and have eaten at LOTS of Mexican restaurants. I never dreamed I would have to come to OKC to find the best Mexican food. Large portions, great service, and the food is wonderful. When we want to enjoy ourselves tremendously, we go to Ted's.

Review: I've been eating Ted's since the original location opened in North
Oklahoma City. I moved to San Antonio, TX a couple years ago on military orders, and
my favorite part of taking leave is going home and eating Ted's. The service is fast
and friendly. I love the fact that they don't stop and try to talk to you every five
minutes while you are eating your food. I really hate it when servers do that. I'm
guessing that here in San Antonio people make their own Mexican food. (There isn't
even an Abuelo's here) I have yet to find a restaurant that served quality food and
gave me peace of mind that the kitchen is clean. Ted is a wonderful person (yes,
there really is a Ted.) He's friendly and down to earth and I love that he treats
everyone like family. That just adds to my already high opinion of the place! Ted,
put one in San Antonio!

Review: Totally over-rated. You wait in long lines to get in a crowded dining room
to eat very average Mexican food. The service is average, and the wait staff is
constantly bumping you because it is overcrowded. I am sure that the restaurant
pays for its position on this website, and thus their good review. If you want
really good food, good service, and more spacious sitting, try Casa Perico. They
are busy too, but it is truly worth the wait, if there is one.

Review: Ted's is overrated. Food and service are just ok. I have been there when
they were out of avocados, but, instead of informing me when I ordered, they served
the dish to me anyway without the avocado, thinking I wouldn't notice, I suppose.
Only after I pointed out the error did the waiter say, oh we're out of avocado.

Review: Since I moved here, I've heard so many great things about Ted's, the "best
Mexican in OKC." So we ate there and it was pretty average. We thought we must have
ordered the wrong thing, so we went back 2 more times. I don't get it. The cheese
dip tastes like globby soup and the food is bland and a lot like the frozen Mexican
entrees from the grocery store. There's plenty of great Mexican food in OKC and
even good TexMex, but this ain't it.

Review: I don't understand why this is so high on your list. Does he put something
in the food so that all people from OKC must declare the best restaurant ever? Is
OKC so deprived of eateries that this qualifies as 5 star material??? Perhaps it's
the whole quantity over quality that make people happy. Don't get me wrong,
Ted's is good, but not great. Ted's is not Mexican -- it is Tex-Mex. The
good:* The fajita chicken [whatever] is very good. I prefer the burrito with
queso, but the fajitas themselves are good too. * Portions are good. In addition,
you get chips/salsa/queso-ish sauce/relish/sopapillas with every meals whether you
want it or not. * The service was good. The people were easily identifiable and
friendly. The not so good: * The price. OUCH! My goodness when the bill
comes you think you've been to Le Cirque or Ruth's Chris. You're paying high prices
for 2.5 star quality food. * The ambiance. The one in Broken Arrow is nicer than
OKC, but people from BA are picky. * The majority of the menu is very average.
Don't expect high-end. * The salsa was average at best. Again, it may be that
whole Tex-Mex, cater to the lowest common denominator philosophy that seems to
permeate this restaurant. One last word, you must go in with proper
expectations. If you are wanting Mexican, don't go to Ted's. If you want a nice
Tex-Mex experience, then this is a good place to visit on occasion if you don't mind
the price.

Review: 100% hype! Ted's does have good Mexican food, but come on people,
this is OKC! We have outstanding Mex. and Texmex restaurants on every corner, and
you won't have to wait 45 min. to sit in a cramped, overcrowded room. Also, if you
have a large group forget Ted's. They won't seat you until all of your party
arrives (then you wind up waiting an hour or so after you all show up)! You can eat
there and never hear a word of Spanish. That probably appeals to some people.

Review: Justin, I don't know what restaurants you grew up going to in Texas!
Ted's is VERY reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The service is
fast, friendly and not annoying. I lived in Texas for 23 years and am moving back
soon. We'll make trips to OK just to eat at Ted's.

Review: Ted's has to be one of the best tex mex restaurants ever. They have
expanded to include 4 locations invluding an anex across the street from the
origional for overflow. I do not remeber if it is still there but the guarntee
included if this is not the best in okc than it is free. the prices are about what
you would pay anywhere and I enjoy the quick service and I allways take home chips
and salsa for later. The torts are allways made fresh and melt in your mouth. Do not
miss out on this Gem of OKC.

Review: Completely overrated. A native Texan, and one that grew up around real Mexican and Tex-Mex, I am extremely dissapointed in this Oklahoma City "staple". I can't
justify waiting a minimum of 45 minutes anytime -- usually outside without anything
to drink b/c the building is so small.
Then, once you wait an eternity to get in, they gorge you on the prices. Plates
start at $10.95 -- now I'm not about to pay $10.95 for enchilladas from anywhere.
They are supposedly famous for their fajitas, which also cost an arm and a leg.
They are okay as are their tortillas.
But really, the OKC area has quite a few smaller Mexican restaurants that you can
get a table with minimal or no wait that has great tasting food and great personal
service. It doesn't bother me that so many Oklahoman's storm to this place and
wait, because while everyone is there waiting, I'm enjoying my own dinner at a
different place.
I would actually give Ted's a 3 ranking, but mainly b/c of the wait and the inflated
prices. Like I said, the food doesn't particularly taste bad, but just mediocre and
not worth a 45+ minute wait, which seems to be a staple of the place.
