Originally constructed in 1919, Oklahoma City's Lake Overholser is the metro's oldest reservoir, built as a water supply to a still-operating water treatment plant at NW 6th and Pennsylvania Avenue. Here is a detailed map with directions to help you get to and around the Lake Overholser area.

Directions: Lake Overholser is just south of Route 66 and north of I-40 between Council and Morgan Roads. The dam is located on the southeast corner. Entry points include NW 10th and NW 39th Expressway.

  • From I-40, exit northbound on Council Rd. Follow Council to either NW 10th or NW 39 Expressway and turn west to Lake Overholser.
  • From I-35, take I-40 west. From I-40, exit northbound on Council Rd. Follow Council to either NW 10th or NW 39 Expressway and turn west to Lake Overholser.
  • From I-235, take I-40 west. From I-40, exit northbound on Council Rd. Follow Council to either NW 10th or NW 39 Expressway and turn west to Lake Overholser.
  • From I-240, take I-44 east to I-40. Take I-40 west. From I-40, exit northbound on Council Rd. Follow Council to either NW 10th or NW 39 Expressway and turn west to Lake Overholser.
