Review: Just like the movie critics beware. We read a few negative reviews and
some good and we went. Great time and meal. It was different ordering ahead but I
can live with that. There was 8 of us and 6 had the buffet and the othe 2 had the
rib eye steak and pork loin. Man that was the best pork loin I have had in years and
Bob's rib eye (so he said) was great. The buffet eaters were all happy and truely
enjoyed the meal. As far as the homemade (and it was real ice cream) and the
cobbler-To Die For! Went back twice for that. Our service was good and then we all
took a ride on the horse and carriage to top off our night. We will be back again.

Review: Our group of about a dozen dined at Brush Creek Restaurant, July 2009.
The overall dining experience was a positive one. The entrees and homemade ice
cream were good. The sides left a little to be desired. We had no trouble with the
service but we did call ahead. Our waitress quickly filled our request as well as
anticipating.Placing your order just inside the front door, before you are seated is
a little awkward, luckily I knew about that ahead of time. I would suggest you go
to their website and look on their home page (not the Menu link, that's for
catering) and decide before hand what you want to order. They did allow us to look
at the buffet before deciding. In a nut shell: Pro: Steaks, grilled chicken,
pork loin (two inches thick) and shrimp (from the buffet), homemade ice cream with
cobbler. Con: Sides such as the baked and mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, bread
(not hot) What you need to know: You place your order before being seated and
you pay at that time. Your GPS directions may stop you short, go east past Portland
Ave. If you're bringing a group, call a few days before. Ask to see the buffet
before ordering. What they could do to improve: Better side dishes, heat the
bread and label the salad dressings. Develop a better system for ordering/paying.

Review: Used to love this place. They changed to buffet, and it's not good any
more. To top it off, we had to pay before we ate, which means tipping before you
get service (I used a credit card). Our meal was $27, I left $4 tip for buffet
service, but they took a 20% tip charging my card $32.40 in lieu of the $31 I
authorized. This is pure stealing. I will never be back and will tell everyone I
know about what happened to me. I know it's only $1.40, but it's still wrong.

Review: Went to Brush Creek Steakhouse tonight, almost didn't because of a review
I saw, but we couldn't have been more pleased. We had buffet; great catfish, ribs,
chicken nuggets, fried shrimp, peel and eat shrimp on salad bar were huge! Fresh
made brown beans were wonderful. Blackberry cobbler with homemade vanilla ice
cream! We will go back and try the steaks. Wait staff was friendly and helpful.
Price was reasonable.

Review: We went to Brush Creek Steakhouse on Valentines Day. We had 7:30
reservations, got seated at 9:00. The Valentine Day Menu only had 6 entres on it,
and they all included choice of soup, 2kinds of potatoes or rice, and a selection of
3 desserts. I thought the menu was quite adequate, until the waitress started to
tell us of all the thing that they were out of. No soup or salad no double baked
potatoes or sour cream, no KC strips, only one dessert left to choose from. We
placed our order and were told later they were out of salad. My prime rib was bloody
raw, when I ordered medium. The only silverware on the table were a handfull of
spoons and a dirty knife. We asked for silverware and got two forks. We had to steel
salt, pepper, and sweetener from another table. I was afraid to send my meat back
for fear it would take another 45min. to get it. So, shareing a dirty knife with my
boyfriend, I ate around the edges of my meat. We were charged for the complete meal,
although part of it was missing. We paid our pricy ticket an will never return.

Review: The wait was long. The service was terrible and very unorganized. The
Manager was rude and non caring. The food which was ok was not worth it. I felt
sorry for the employees so I still left them a tip.

Review: This is a wonderful restaurant, if you are not there early; expect to
wait. The steaks are Incredible. The salad bar is not huge; but adequate. It's a bit
pricey but what steakhouse isn't? The quality will overshadow the price.

Review: Heard so much good about this restaurant, took my brother there for his
birthday last Friday (Oct. 10)-to there with a party of 8 at 6:15ish, did not get
seated until an hour or so later. Waiter was overwhelmed( or at least I choose to
think so) cuz he was terrible!! Left to get drinks and didn't bring them back for
about 15 minutes, then took order and it was another 45 minutes or so before we got
our food with no condiments(tartar sauce, steak sauce, etc). When we finally
flagged him down and told him that he had left part of our order off and we needed
condiments, it took another 15 minutes to get the remainder of our order and I
finally had to go get the condiments from kitchen staff, and get drink refills from
another waitress, I flagged down. The food was not bad once we got it,however, be
prepared to wait to be seated and wait for your food. I was completely floored by
the manager's lack of concern about the lack of speed of service, the lack of good
service, and whether or not people were satisfied with their dining experience.
They have a sign up saying they will be closing for the winter months except for
parties, however, if the service that we got is an every day experience, then they
might want to rethink the opening back up on a full time basis. Not somewhere I
will visit again.

Review: On the south side of the city is a well-kept secret called Brush Creek
Steakhouse. This privately owned restaurant is located on SW 16th St in Newcastle,
1 mile east of Hwy 62 just south of Newcastle. The steaks are incredible, and the
pork loin is the thickest and juiciest I've had. As an appetizer, their warm,
home-made potato chips dipped in homemade ranch dressing are addicting! It's well
worth the short drive south of town.
