I will spare you the tired jokes about the event bringing the certainty of rain, but it's time to mark your calendar for the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts, a metro favorite now with nearly 50 years of history. The full 2013 details have been announced, and this year's event runs from April 23-28. As always, admission is completely free, and an expected crowd of over 700,000 will enjoy the work of nearly 200 artists from all over the U.S.
Then, of course, there's the food. According to event presenter The Arts Council of Oklahoma, the 2013 festival welcomes all the traditional favorites as well as new additions such as Inca Trail Peruvian Restaurant, Temptations Food, Wong Key Asian Pacific and Waffle Au Som. A full slate of performing artists hasn't yet been released, but this year's street performer is Derek McAlister, specializing in a combination of clown, mime, dance, and Chinese pole.
