For the 85th Academy Awards on February 24th, the red carpet will roll out all across the country, including Oklahoma City. As part of the Oscar Experience event, nearly 50 cities will host their own glamorous fund-raising watch parties. Presented by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of OKC's Young Professionals, the metro's Oscar affair will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of OKC, an organization that provides a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment in Oklahoma City.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Will Rogers Theatre at Western and NW 43rd. Attendees, dressed in cocktail or 1920's attire, receive a copy of the official Oscar program, and there will be food, trivia games, contests and more, all before the live broadcast of the Academy Awards Ceremony begins. KOCO morning hosts Wendell Edwards and Maggie Stokes are the emcees.
Tickets to Oklahoma City's Oscar Experience event are $60, and they can be purchased online or by calling (405) 424-6873.
