If you haven't been to the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art on the University of Oklahoma, you're missing out on one of the best museums around. With art valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, according to museum officials it's one of the top five university art museums in the country in terms of appraised value.
Now, thanks to a gift from the OU athletic department, cost of admission is no longer an issue for prospective visitors. The $60,000 donation allows the museum to offer free admission to the general public. Hours of operation are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday hours are from 1-5 p.m., and the facility is closed on Mondays.
