For the 2nd straight season, fans of the Sooners and Cowboys will travel to the same area for postseason football bowl games. Last year, it was the Phoenix area, OU at the Insight Bowl and OSU the Fiesta. This year, the Bedlam rivals make their way to the Dallas metroplex for a pair of early January bowls, and neither side is likely very happy about it.
Despite winning a share of the Big 12 title, Oklahoma lost out on a BCS berth to MAC Champion Northern Illinois, a team ranked in the BCS top 16. That, coupled with last week's loss to Baylor, sends Oklahoma State to a bowl that wasn't exactly on the school's wish list either.
The Sooners take on a familiar face, former Big 12 South mates Texas A&M, in the 2013 Cotton Bowl Classic on January 4th. For fans looking to make the trip, I have Cotton Bowl information on tickets, travel, accommodations, Dallas entertainment options and more. Meanwhile, the Cowboys will be nearby just a few days earlier for the Heart of Dallas Bowl against Purdue. Get a Heart of Dallas Bowl guide with similar information.
