They should have knocked on wood. I knew all hope was lost the moment I saw the editorial in the Oklahoman last week talking about the summer of 2011 and proclaiming "Oklahoma City hit 100 degrees 11 times in the final 17 days of June. With any luck, we won't do that even once in June this year." Sure enough, here we are... misery. Well, if you bought a season pass to White Water Bay, a good deal if you plan to go more than a few times over the summer, you've found at least one way to cool yourself down in the metro. And just in time for the heat, a popular annual event at the park returns.
With "Dive In Movies," a different film is shown on a big screen at the wave pool each Friday evening through August 3rd. It's free with park admission, and here is the schedule. If you have little ones, keep in mind that at least a couple of the movies are rated PG-13.
- 6/29 - Zookeeper
- 7/6 - The Smurfs
- 7/13 - Captain America
- 7/20 - Super 8
- 7/27 - Footloose
- 8/3 - Dolphin Tale
