The Oklahoma City Zoo, receiving plenty of attention and accolades with all the recent additions, has opened yet another attraction. A partnership with the same company that runs the Bricktown Water Taxis, "Safari Voyages" carry up to 50 passengers on a "smooth and relaxing" Zoo Lake ride as the captain entertains with zoo stories and facts. Boats are electronically-powered and made of fiberglass, and tickets for unlimited rides on the day of purchase are $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children & seniors. Little ones under 3 years of age ride free.
At this point, there is only one dock, located near the aquatic center, but there are plans to add another behind the Elephant Pavilion, giving guests a chance to save some time and energy by riding rather than walking. Also in the works is adding the option of catered events on the boats.
