We'll just have to cross our fingers. Right now, the early part of the week looks very good, but as we've come to expect for the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts, we might get some rain next weekend. So I'm going early this year, and then if the weather cooperates, I can also go again to one of my favorite events of the year. The 2012 version kicks off Tuesday on the streets of downtown, from Walker to Robinson between Reno and Sheridan. And entry is absolutely free.
Coordinated by the Arts Council of Oklahoma City, the Festival of the Arts includes, of course, the wonderful visual art such as paintings and sculptures, but also street performances, stage shows and wonderful culinary creations as well, elements that seem to keep getting better and better. This year, there will be nearly 300 performers on four stages at Festival Plaza and the Myriad Gardens. In addition, look for a huge 2012 food menu with all offerings priced at $8 or less, the art Creation Station for kids, a number of special exhibits, Pottery Place, face painting and much, much more.
According to organizers, there's actually more parking this year, despite renovations such as Project 180. Check current road closures before you go, and print and pack a full festival map.

Hi MLL,
Seems to be working for me. Perhaps try a different browser and see if that helps.
