Beginning last May, an Oklahoma City Utility customer's name is drawn at random each week. If that customer, a participant in the city's curbside recycling program, sets out his or her "Little Blue" recycling bin the following week, a $100 gift card is the prize. Some lucky recyclers have won up to $600, as prizes carry forward when the selected customer doesn't put out the bin that week. The instant win recycling game, however, has only a few weeks remaining.
Blue Bin Instant Win is a program the city has utilized before, most recently in 2008, to encourage recycling. And though the game ends just after the upcoming Earth Day, city officials hope the recycling efforts will continue, noting that estimates indicate "up to 75 percent of what we throw away is recyclable."

I place the big blue almost every week. I do it not for the reward. We try to put everything that is recycleable in the cart. If you really look at what is able, it could cut down your trash bins amount. I see my neighbors that do not use it, every week have to use both big blues where they could at least cut their trash amount by 1/4 at least.
