We wrap up an uncharacteristically warm January this weekend with a jam-packed slate of highlight events around the metro. For example, the Oklahoma City Philharmonic presents "ABBA - The Concert" this Friday and Saturday at the Civic Center Music Hall as part of the 2011-12 Pops series. Featuring Waterloo, the top ABBA tribute band in the world, the show includes iconic hits such as "Mamma Mia," "Money, Money, Money," "Dancing Queen" and more. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (405) 842-5387.

But that's not all on the big stage. Lyric Theatre presents "Xanadu" at the Plaza. The "over-the-top roller-skating musical" spoofs the 1980's Olivia Newton-John film about a beautiful muse who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach and inspires a struggling artist to pursue his dreams. Get tickets online or by calling (405) 524-9312.

The Cox Convention Center has Disney Live! presents "Three Classic Fairy Tales" on Sunday, a magical production with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Goofy on an enchanted adventure. Get venue & ticket information here on About.com.

And also in the metro...

  • The Oklahoma Children's Theatre begins a production of "The Teddy Bear's Picinic" at Oklahoma City University on Friday.
  • Some of the top restaurants and chocolatiers in Norman will be attending a special and delectable event on Saturday... It's the 30th Annual Chocolate Festival at Firehouse Art Center, an annual fundraiser with children's activities, demonstrations and, of course, chocolate. See normanfirehouse.com for all the details.
  • In sports, the Thunder will be up late on Friday with a 9:30 p.m. CST game at Golden State, televised on both Fox Sports Oklahoma and NBATV.
  • Both OU and OSU men's teams are on the road this Saturday as well, unfortunately. The Sooners men are at Kansas State for a 6 p.m. tip while the Cowboys travel to College Station to face A&M at 3 p.m.
  • But the Oklahoma City Barons are in town at the Cox Convention Center for two this weekend. See our team take on Houston on Friday and Texas on Saturday.
  • There's Freestyle Motocross at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Saturday. Get venue & ticket information.
  • Head to State Fair Park for Art Now. It's City Arts Center's annual celebration and art sale that features national, regional and emerging artists, and the event runs through February 3rd. Get all the details at cityartscenter.org.
  • The Cox Convention Center has the Oklahoma Bridal Show on Sunday. See the official site for more information.
  • In music, check out the SNOklahoma Winter Festival at the Oklahoma City Farmers Public Market on Friday, an event that includes music from Norman-based Montu as well as special guests the Floozies, Captain Comfy, Mannachine, Panda Resistance and Dr. Willgood.
  • The Greyson Chance concert Saturday at the Coca Cola Bricktown Events Center benefits OU's Peggy & Charles Stephenson Oklahoma Cancer Center. For tickets, call (877) 990-7882.
  • And the Eli Young Band will be at Riverwind Casino on Saturday. Get venue & ticket information.
  • Finally among the highlights, State Fair Park presents, throughout the weekend, the longest running boat show in OKC history. See the official site for more.
