Designated drivers are ideal, and cabs are a good option as well. But during the holiday celebrations this year, remember the "Tipsy Tow" program from AAA Oklahoma, a service that provides a free, no-questions-asked ride home and tow to anyone in Oklahoma City who has had a bit too much and should not be behind the wheel. This year, they are offering the program for an extended period, from December 17th through midnight on Saturday, January 1st.

Another option for New Year's Even is a service called Safe and Sober from local law firm J. Colbert Injury Lawyers. They started it for St. Patrick's Day last year and are doing it again from 11 p.m. on Friday, December 31, 2010 through 3 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2011. All you have to do for a free ride home within Oklahoma City and Edmond, at a cap charge of $30 per ride, is call Thunder Cab at (405) 600‐6161.
