Ladies and gentlemen, we now have the answer to continued NBA success here in Oklahoma City. Ghosts...
Following a game in which they were blown out 106-88 by the Thunder, several New York Knicks players blamed the loss on a restless stay at the supposedly haunted Skirvin Hotel. "I definitely believe there are ghosts in that hotel," said center Eddy Curry, who claims to have slept only two hours. Forward Jared Jeffries added, "The place is haunted. It's scary."
Many of you know of the legend of Effie, a former Skirvin housekeeper who is said to have committed suicide by jumping from a 10th story window and now haunts the hotel. If not, here's a breakdown of the story. Personally, though I'd say it's too easy to hear people in other rooms from time to time, I've never seen Effie or anything else strange at the Skirvin, nor have any members of my family on multiple stays. But if she is real, it is incredibly nice to know that Effie seems to be a Thunder fan. All we have to do is make sure every visiting team stays in the Skirvin, certainly one of OKC's finest, and we are undoubtedly playoff bound with the best home record in the league.
So how about you? Have you ever experienced anything strange at the Skirvin? Share your ghost story with the rest of us.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Spurs aren’t afraid of ghosts…
You know… the geek in me is going crazy about how cool it would be to investigate this place…. It looks beautiful. Great architecture.
