Oklahomans of the Year Nominations

Do you know someone who works to make Oklahoma a better place? Well, Oklahoma Magazine wants to hear about him or her. Through Friday, November 27th, the publication is accepting nominations for a feature on the "Oklahomans of the Year." Anyone can nominate an individual in one of the following categories:

  • Ambassador: a native Oklahoman with national prominence who is a supporter and ambassador of the Sooner State.
  • Arts & Entertainment: an Oklahoman that has made a positive impact in Oklahoma arts and entertainment fields.
  • Business and Economic Development: an Oklahoman that has made significant contributions to the state's business sector or had significant impact on economic development on the state or local level.
  • Education: an Oklahoman who has positively impacted the state of education on the state or local level.
  • Health: an Oklahoman who has furthered health initiatives or policy for the betterment of the state residents' health.
  • Philanthropy: an Oklahoman who has significantly impacted a charitable cause or charitable giving through leadership and/or personal giving.
  • Preservation: an Oklahoman who has made a significant contribution to preserving the culture, material culture, history, environment or ecology of Oklahoma.
  • Public Service: a public figure that has advocated for change that has or will positively affect Oklahomans.
  • Sports: an Oklahoma sports figure that has excelled both on and off the field of play. The nominee can be an athlete, coach or other individual involved in sports at any level.
