Yard Dawgz Join New League

Tuesday September 29, 2009

Fans of Oklahoma City's arena football Yard Dawgz were concerned late last year when it was announced the Arena Football League would cease operations due to economic factors, but they were quickly reminded the team, a member of the af2 at the time, would be just fine. It may be even better than that as Oklahoma City will join a new "Arena Football 1" league for this spring's season.

The newly merged league currently has 16 teams, a combination of Arena Football League and af2 franchises, and the total includes OKC's rival, the Tulsa Talons. In addition, the number is likely to grow before a final list is released October 9th. If you want to be a part of the new Arena Football 1 league, the Yard Dawgz are holding open tryouts this week. Check the official site for details.
