Metro Communities to Host Garage Sales
Sunday April 12, 2009
With Spring's arrival, focus turns to outdoor activities, events and the increased possibility of severe storms. But it's also the time when residents throughout the metro begin cleaning out closets, storage buildings and attics for a garage sale.
City governments around the area remind about the rules and requirements for garage sales. Though many neglect to do so, permits are required and not having one could result in a hefty fine. In addition, there are even regulations on where you can hang your garage sale signs in Oklahoma City.
Much of that worry will be removed for Nicoma Park and Moore residents in the upcoming weeks, though. The communities will hold citywide garage sales for which no permit will be required. The Moore garage sale is scheduled for April 17-19, and Nicoma Park's will be April 23-26. More information is available by calling (405) 769-5673 (Nicoma Park) or (405) 793-5000 (Moore).
