Color Me Very Badd
Thursday September 18, 2008
Here's one in the "Where are they now?" category. Remember Color Me Badd, the popular 90's R&B group responsible for such hits as "I Want to Sex You Up," "I Adore Mi Amor," and "All 4 Love"? The quartet hailed from OKC's Northwest Classen High School and had a short-lived moment in the spotlight, falling somewhere short of the most successful Oklahoman entertainers.
Well, I'm not sure if there's been a VH1 special on them, but we know the whereabouts of at least one. According to a recent Oklahoman report, singer Bryan Abrams, 38, was arrested right here in Oklahoma City when he allegedly threatened a woman and punched her in the nose at SW 89th and Penn. According to officers, Abrams had a "strong odor of alcohol" and was booked in the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of public drunkenness and domestic abuse.
This makes you want to dig out those CDs and give them a listen, doesn't it?

There is more to this story – hitting should never be used to try and solve an issue but… some things should never be said to another person under any circumstances and for sure not said in front of that persons child.
always the “badd” news…couldn’t you dig up the whereabouts of the remaining members? It would be nice to hear they’d gone on to bigger, better things, even if they’re not necessarily “newsworthy”.
Now see… That would require me to actually care about their whereabouts.
Just for you, though, Jonathan:
- Sam Watters is working as songwriter and producer, most recently winning a Best Song Grammy for “When I See U.” He also married Tamyra Gray of American Idol fame.
- Mark Calderon resides in Cincinnati, it appears. He worked in insurance according to one source, and is said to be writing music for a Christian album.
- And according to his website, Kevin Thornton is a devout Christian focusing on music and ministry.
I have no desire to know anything about this trite worn out worthless pop act.
