OKC Weekend Highlights: 7/18-7/20

Friday July 18, 2008
Head out to State Fair Park this weekend for the Oklahoma City Summer Classic Car Auction. There will be classics, muscle cars, street rods and exotics for display and auction both Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $5; admission for children and military personnel is free. Check the official site for more information.

Elsewhere, "Taste for Sight 2008" is a fundraiser for Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, and it takes place from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday night at the Oklahoma History Center. There will be food, wine and premium beers from a number of popular Oklahoma City restaurants.

The 2nd Annual "Soul Food Festival" takes place Saturday at the Zoo Amphitheatre. Catch Peabo Bryson, Stephanie Mills, Whispers and Troop with a 6 p.m. start. Also, Riverwind Casino has Morris Day & the Time Saturday night. Get venue and ticket information for both here on About.com OKC.

In sports, the Oklahoma Redhawks are back in town this weekend to take on the Memphis Redbirds. As usual Friday night's game will be followed by fireworks, and Saturday is Johnny Bench Statue Giveaway day for the first 2,500 fans. The Yard Dawgz are also in action. They have only two games left in the season and face the Tulsa Talons Saturday evening, trying to avenge a 70-34 loss from back in April.
