Devon Energy Planning OKC's Tallest Building

Sunday March 16, 2008
Oklahoma City is a metro on the rise, but you wouldn't know it to look at our relatively unspectacular skyline. Well a change may be on the way. Devon Energy Corp. is planning a new corporate headquarters at a parking site near the Myriad Botanical Gardens. If completed in the next four years as planned, the estimated $350 million construction would create the tallest building in OKC at 37 stories, besting the Chase Tower by one.

The proposed 1 million square foot building would allow Devon to combine nearly 1,400 employees from five separate locations. Devon CEO Larry Nichols has said the company would also like to connect an incomplete tunnel beneath the site to the Underground tunnels of downtown.
