Many OKC residents look forward to the traditional holiday classic each and every year. Well, it's here. Ballet Oklahoma presents The Nutcracker this weekend and next at the Civic Center Music Hall. Tickets start at around $20 and are available for purchase online by calling (405) 297-2264.The Oklahoma City Blazers will play their historic 1000th game on Friday evening at the Ford Center against the Amarillo Gorillas. In the previous 999, the team has a record of 593-317-89. Tickets are still available if you'd like to be a part of Blazers history.
Speaking of the Ford Center, the box office will place tickets on sale this weekend for two big upcoming concerts, George Strait and Van Halen. Both of those shows will be in January, but tickets will be available Saturday, December 8th. Get venue and ticket purchasing information for the Ford Center here.
And the Downtown in December holiday festivities continue for OKC. My spotlight event this week is the Braum's Outdoor Ice Rink. Located on the area just east of the Civic Center Music Hall, the ice rink is open from noon to 10pm through January 1st. It's only $8 to skate for two hours, $5 if you bring your own skates, and Friday nights are disco nights. There's also a cafe with food and hot chocolate.
