July 4th in Oklahoma City

Saturday June 30, 2007
Our nation's birthday is but a few days away now, and Oklahoma City will be doing the party in style. Most cities around the metro have something planned, but the premiere event this year is the inaugural Red, White & Boom on the river. It's three days of fantastic music, fun and fireworks.

Bricktown will still be holding their Independence Day Celebration, but there won't be a parade this year. You can, however, see the art exhibits on the canal, watch the children's dance groups and attend a hot dog eating contest before the Redhawks game and subsequent fireworks.

In addition, some of the bigger July 4th celebrations around the metro include Edmond's LibertyFest, a multi-day event with live music, a car show and more, and Bethany's Freedom Festival, a tradition with almost 50 years of history.

What are you doing for July 4th? Share your plans below or on the OKC Discussion Forum.
