Big 12 Basketball in Oklahoma City

Thursday March 8, 2007
It's that time of year, just before March gains its full madness, in which the Big 12 hosts the conference basketball championships. And this year, both the men's and women's tournaments will take place in OKC. The women's got started earlier this week at the Cox Convention Center while the men's began Thursday just across the street at the Ford Center.

If you're coming in from out of town, the links above will give you maps to find those venues, and here is a breakdown of the major OKC highways to help you navigate your way around. While you're here, be sure to check out the best our city has to offer in attractions and dining.

As for the local teams, the Oklahoma Sooners men's team was eliminated Friday by the Kansas Jayhawks, but the Oklahoma State Cowboys advanced to take on Texas in the semi-finals Saturday at 3:20pm. The game will be televised on KOCB 34. The Oklahoma women, meanwhile, have advanced to the finals to take on Iowa State Saturday at 6pm on Fox Sports Net.
