Oklahoma City Amusement Parks Sold

Saturday January 13, 2007
Last month, Six Flags Inc. announced both of their Oklahoma City amusement parks would remain open in 2007 despite the company's desire to sell the properties. Well that is most definitely the case now that Frontier City and White Water Bay have been sold.

In a deal valued at over $300 million, both properties were purchased along with 5 others to PARC 7F-Operations Corp. or Jacksonville. The new owners announced this week that they plan to bring back a regional, family-friendly focus to both parks.

It's another piece of good news in the park saga for the metro. Attendance at both dropped in 2006 due to the unknown future, and many are hopeful this news will rekindle interest for 2007 and beyond. All indications are the new owners have a good background in the management of regional amusement parks and have every intention of returning these OKC favorites to the height of their popularity.

I love these places but because of the violence that the young people would bring to the park I stop coming to the park.

I’m sure the food and admission prices had something to do with the drop in customers in 2006.

I think everyone is ready for the new management group to clean up the 2 parks and start upgrading these outdated rides that alot families have been complaining about for sometime now.
